The Great War
In the distant past, the Great War (グレートウォー, Gurēto Wō) was a historical conflict between Autobot and Decepticon ancestors battled for the AllSpark in order for the supremacy of Cybertron.
History
The Beginning
The history of Cybertron has faded into myth, the ancients are long gone, and much of their technology is to the Transformers. A line of Primes have emerged to lead Cybertron. Optimus and Megatron are friends, but their core beliefs about the structure of society and methods for change drive a wedge between them. The Autobots believe in freedom and the rights of sentient beings; The newly formed Decepticons, led by Megatron, strive for order and survival of the strongest. These ideals clash in a War.
A New Hero Emerges
The Great War ravages Cybertron for eons. The Primes fall. Megatron, pushing his edge, unleashes a dangerous energy source called Dark Energon. Megatron hoping to remake Cybertron in his own image, even if it means by infecting the planet’s core with Dark Energon. The Autobots find hope in an untested leader as Optimus is knighted as the last Prime and Alpha Trion bestows the Matrix of Leadership upon him. Optimus orders a planet wide evacuation, but stays with a select team of Autobots to ensure civilian transports can escape.
Race to Survival
The Autobots and Decepticons begins to scavenge parts and Energon for the Ark—the Autobots final transport and the Nemesis —the Decepticons final transport. The struggle for Energon grows desperate as both sides battle over what remains. Shockwave discovers a solution to the Energon crisis, he also found the AllSpark's location is coming from a primitive world teeming with life and raw energy. This attention catches Megatron’s eye along with the eyes of other Transformers. The Autobots and Decepticons see a chance to have an adventage they need to win the war, leaving Ultra Magnus and Shockwave in charge of the Autobot and Decepticon forces on Cybertron. The race is on. The Ark and the Nemesis battle in space. Both ships tumble through the space as Autobots and Decepticons races to the planet the AllSpark was found.
